Been beavering away with the Notso since the Brighton run, it will quite happily run all day at up to 60mph but get it up into the power in top and the power ebbs away very quickly and nips up if you keep pushing, tried honing a couple of times and found that the cylinder is barrel shaped and not even round. Thought about a rebore but am very limited with pistons there not being a good quality race piston available that'll work so plan B was put into place which was an air cooled cylinder from 50cc but that plan fell by the wayside when 50cc tuning found me a good used watercooled one at a great price. Unwittingly by moving the studs to fit the YG 1 cylinder at the beginning I hit upon the most common stud spacing for 50cc motors and there is a huge array of good quality ones to fit, this is probably the best one out there, unfortunately the cases needed a bit more grinding to get the full benefit though. I didn't want to split the motor if I didn't have to so I plugged up all the gaps with blue tac and opened them up. Note the area around the boost built up with JB as the LC cylinder was smaller there, once dry I flatted that off and it seems ok so far.

A couple of years ago while in Orlando while wandering around Wallmart I picked up a small capilary water temp gauge thinking it might come in handy one day. I figured I needed a temp gauge of some sort for the Notso so dug it out and offered it up, pinched the chrome rim off the old ammeter and it fits.

At the moment with the jetting still too rich, and timing still not perfect and pipe not necessarily right for the cylinder it will do 70mph on the flat with me (fat bloke) sat upright, accelerates like a 125cc. I think with a bit more work it will hit 80 on this gearing ducked down on the tank, but think that it may well pull another tooth on the front sprocket which would be close to 90 if it pulls ok.This cylinder has been on the dyno on another engine and made a best of 21.7hp at the back wheel.
